About us: We match new material
Recycled plastics are only of interest to the plastics processing industry,
if they are available in the long term, in consistent quality and in sufficiently large
quantities. Only in this case are they in direct competition with new plastics.
We have successfully decided to fulfil this demand and to take up the challenge.
The mtm Group’s main works are located in northern Thuringia, on the southern edge of the
Harz, on the A38 motorway between Halle/Leipzig and Kassel/Göttingen.
We have been recycling plastic packaging at our location in Niedergebra since 1994.
Initially, we still used primitive technology. The products, to which the term,
“down cycling” could have been appropriately applied, were simple and unattractive
(guttering, paving stones, fencing posts, palisades). Gradually, after two changes of
ownership, we began to introduce innovative technology and continued to develop it further.
Today, mtm is regarded throughout the whole of Europe as the technology leader.
As an owner managed medium sized company, we now set the standards for the processing of
mixed plastics. Our 80 employees and our
highly technical plants , which although they do not have an attractive appearance do operate profitably,
ensure that our customers are loyal and satisfied. Incidentally, we are also the biggest
producers of polyolefin regranulates in the world. With an input capacity of up to 75,000
tons annually (status per 2010), we can produce and sell up to 40,000 tons of regranulate.
Our customers manufacture in Germany, Italy, Benelux, France, Poland, Greece and Turkey,
where we provide appropriate on-site support through our respective
sales employees.
